Robertson with Georgia

Back in April my gorgeous friend Georgia (blog, travel blog) went for a drive to Robertson. We forgot an SD card so most the photos were taken on our iphones besides the first couple which were taken on Georgia's film camera. We got delicious devonshire tea and scones with delicious raspberry jam at Fountaindale Grand Manor. After we walked around admiring the building and it's gardern which had lots of autumn leaves and other beauties of nature. We found a couple of ponies which we said hello to and gave them a pat, they were very friendly. We wondered around the town enjoying beautiful view and the cold crisp air, we visited the lolly shop and the cheese factory cafe. And finally, on our way back we stopped by the side of the road to look at some cute cows.

Film Soundtracks

The Pulp Zine asked a couple of us what to write a short paragraph about our favourite film soundtracks.. Soundtracks to my favourite films are very dear to me, I listen them and feel transported into another world - (often pretending I'm in the film myself.) I their are so many favourites of mine - Moonrise Kingdom, Grand Budapest Hotel, Amelie, Harold and Maude, and so on... yet I my all time favourite soundtrack has to be Paris, Texas. Here is what I wrote for the zine:

"My love for my favourite film soundtracks is immeasurable, yet my favourite ever soundtrack is from the film Paris, Texas (1984). Ry Cooder’s steel-guitar music works so incredibly well with the panning shots of Texas desert landscape– the opening scene alone is just so incredible. The soundtrack was modelled from the emotion and powerful song ‘Dark Was the Night, Cold Was the Ground’ by Blind Willie Johnson. The music adds to the cinematography’s atmosphere, emphasising the sense of isolation and of feeling lost. When ‘Cancion Mixteca’ plays during the film, it just breaks my heart. This soundtrack has some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard and it’s very sentimental to me, that I struggle to find words for it."

Hunx

Some photos from seeing Hunx and his Punx and Shannon and the Clams when they were in Australia last night. This was the most spectacular and fun night ever, I went with Chester and LuciHunx and his Punx are one of my favourite bands ever so I was over the moon with happiness. I was lucky to be able to talk with them and get some photos together (even some silly selfies), they were all so lovely! Hunx,

Memories

Here are some photographs I took at my Grandparents house during the summer. Their house is so lovely, each bedroom has a unique and stunning lighting pouring in the windows, that give the curtains a magical glow. Grandma's room is full of perfect detail, from the wallpaper, bedspread and little trinkets. This photo set is about nostalgia, dreams, and memories. See the full set here xx
